![]() ![]() Individually all these releases are worth more than $5000, but now available for free on BetaArchive. Originally it was a 4 disc set covering Mac OS System 7.0 to 8.5.1, but this is the expanded 8 disc release covering all the way up to MacOS 9.0, every version (from 7.0) in every available language. It was originally released by Apple in 1999 and available only in limited quantities to ADC members. More info will follow when it's released.Įdit: Alright, I've added a new release today (3 huge releases this week!) including the Mac OS Anthology disc set! See here.Īnd I've decided to release the Mac OS Anthology disc set, it's large but it's Apple original, and a nice addition to BetaArchive. I've uploaded the System 7.5.2 international releases and some abandonware. And if you want to put them on real floppies (to use on a real Mac) you can just use Winimage or rawrite on a PC to write them. I can open the floppy images and ISO images in OS X without a problem, so you need to figure out how to associate the file with the application to open them. ![]() Unfortunately there is no "Open with." menu. Mrpijey wrote:Opening these in Mac OS 9 (or earlier) is always a mess considering that those OS:es used metainformation to store what app is used to open it. And I may add the original compilation to BetaArchive as well, but it's 8 DVD discs so it's quite large. Same goes with the "International" ones.Įither way, both International and British goes into the International folder since I try to keep the US-english versions as non-international. If anyone can confirm this then please do. I.e "colour" vs "color", "flavour" vs "flavor" etc, including grammatical differences. I am not entirely sure why Apple made a "British" version, but Andy suggested it's because they made them to comply with the british-english dictionary which differs some from the US-english. Some of these releases are the "" and "" ones. Please check my new uploads with those you got and send up whatever is missing. In addition, I am adding the remaining missing versions from the Apple compilation set I have, including some System 7 releases you provided me earlier (that weren't on the compilation discs, oddly enough). Remember, these floppy and disc images comes directly from official Apple DVD:s. I tried to burn one of the ISO:s with Toast (in Mac OS 8.0) and it worked fine to open the disc. ![]() ![]() Thanks so much for any consideration and/or suggestions.Opening these in Mac OS 9 (or earlier) is always a mess considering that those OS:es used metainformation to store what app is used to open it. Or if anyone would be willing to "send" me server.app 5.4? It would not be a licensing violation since I do actually own the product.am just unable to get the version I actually need. I clearly know this is a strange post and request, but if anyone could point me to server.app 5.4 or High Sierra 13.3 installer, I would be most grateful. So, what I really need to find is either a copy of server.app 5.4 (which will run on High Sierra 13.6) or a High Sierra installer that only installs version 13.3. And the only High Sierra installer I have (or have been able to locate) installs version 13.6. However, with any running version of MacOSX High Sierra later than 13.3, the App Store will only let me download server.app version 5.6.X, which is missing the services I need. I own (via the App Store) a later version of server.app, so the store is quite happy to let me download earlier versions. Regret I have a quite convoluted issue, trying to run MacOSX High Sierra on a MacMini along with server.app version 5.4, in order to preserve the services that have been removed in server.app version 5.5 and later. ![]()
